CHESED COMMITTEE
Nurture, Support, and Celebrate
During all of life’s transitions
The Chesed Committee of Moriah Congregation seeks to nurture congregants at moments of joy, sorrow, and transition. Our Chesed Committee provides support, solace, and hope to congregants and their families during times of illness, loss and grief. We also reach out to families at times of joyful transitions – births, b’nai mitzvot, and marriage.
We are here for you with:
- Hospital, home or nursing home visitations
- Transportation to medical appointments
- Meal preparations
- A refuah shlema (prayer for complete healing) announced – with your prior permission – at Shul and in the Moriah Happenings; we work to increase awareness while always being sensitive to the needs of our congregants
- The support you need, which may go beyond what is listed here
Please know that individual needs will always be met with confidentiality, respect, sensitivity, and kindness (chesed).
We are here for you today:
Please reach out to the synagogue office, Rabbi Kramer, or Moriah’s Caring Community Chair, Neil Pliskin at Chesed Committee or call the office at 847-948-5340 to request assistance, share information about a friend or a loved one or volunteer.
And remember: A little help will go a long way, so please volunteer to support our Chesed Committee as well. Time commitment can be flexible.
